Top 10 Upcoming Albums Fall 2010

Fall is traditionally the busiest time of the year for the music industry, and fall 2010 looks no different. Leading the pack of new releases is the next album from the artist with the biggest selling album of 2009.

Kings of Leon became international pop superstars with their last album Only By the Night. The single “Use Somebody” was a top 5 pop hit in the US while “Sex On Fire” went to #1 in countries around the world.

October 25 – Taylor Swift – ‘Speak Now’

This album seems to be the best bet for being the top selling release of 2010. Taylor Swift’s last album Fearless was the bestselling album of the year in 2009. The single “Mine” debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. It no longer makes sense to refer to Taylor Swift as a country crossover act. She is simply a pop superstar.

November 16 – Kid Rock – ‘Born Free’

Kid Rock’s most recent album Rock n Roll Jesus was his biggest chart success of a career dating back to 1990. It is his only album to hit #1. It included the nostalgic pop hit “All Summer Long.” Born Free is expected to include a wide range of collaborations with other artists including Eminem.

November 16 – Kanye West – ‘Dark Twisted Fantasy’

Dark Twisted Fantasy is Kanye West’s fifth studio album. Drake has already given it advance praise saying it will be one of the best hip hop albums of the last 10 years. After the experimentation on his last album, Dark Twisted Fantasy is expected to be a hard turn back to beats and rhymes. Three of Kanye West’s four previous albums have hit #1 and all are certified platinum. He has hit the top 40 on the pop singles chart 11 times with two #1s.
